If you’ve been one of those people who thought it was always good to end your romantic relationships on a amicable note and still remain friends with your exes, new research suggests that you might be a devious, conniving, manipulative crazy person. According to esquire.com:
“Researchers at Oakland University studied the post-relationship friendships of 861 people and found that those with darker personality traits were more likely to keep exes around as friends. What’s more, they purposefully kept them around to exchange “desirable resources” like hookups and other sexual relationships. They also thought staying friends was more practical (for them) than cutting ties.”
Psychologist refer to these people as “Dark Triads” and their personality traits include “narcissism, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism. Or, self-admiration, insensitivity, and manipulation.”
So maybe the fact that you’re girl isn’t friends with any of her exes is a good thing. If she is, then maybe it’s time to reconsider.
