Kevin Durant has had very busy off season. Aside from dealing with a crazy free agent summer, he’s also playing for Team USA in this summer’s Olympics. That opportunity has given him the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the NBA’s elite and some of its bright new comers who are part of the ‘Select Team’. New Laker draft pick Brandon Ingram drew special interest from KD, who seems to agree with the comparison of the young talent to himself.
Speaking with reporters in Las Vegas after practice Durant said that he’s a “huge fan” of Ingram’s game, noting that he “watched almost every game” that Ingram played for Duke University last season. But what he said about their similarities is what should have the entire NBA (especially Laker fans) really excited.
“He’s the first person that I could… look at him and feel like I’m looking in the mirror,” Durant said to reporters, after saying that Ingram “is a little farther along than I was at that stage.”
If Brandon Ingram can live up to these expectations then all NBA fans should be excited to get another KD caliber player enjoy. Not to mention that the young guard would be able to revive a desolate Laker franchise that lost its most games ever last season.
